Trainers and Course Materials:

To ensure that all delegates receive an unfailing high standard of training, MSP trainers and course materials are all accredited by APM Group Ltd. Being regularly reviewed and examined, MSP course materials are maintained to the highest standards administered by APM Group Ltd. Our trainers are frequently assessed by MSP and AMP Group Ltd. in order to guarantee their familiarity and knowledge of Programme Management and MSP is correct and increasingly strong, thus delivering the training that aids delegates in extracting the maximum information and skills needed before attending our courses.

Course Overview and Content:

The PRINCE2 Training course is a 5 day intensive course in which the delegate will receive information and training based on the MSP Methodology in Programme Management. Within the first 3 days of the course, delegates will be focusing primarily on the Foundation aspect of the course – delegates will then take the MSP Foundation examination which is included in the course on the third day. The subsequent weekend, delegates will concentrate on the Practitioner top-level aspect of the course, and will be provided with a full day Practitioner Workshop, in which the trainer will impart extensive knowledge of the Programme Managing environment onto the delegate. On the last day of the course, delegates will then take their final MSP Practitioner examination in order to complete the MSP Qualification and gain the MSP Training Certification.

The MSP course materials used by PRINCE2 Training are based on the 2011 manual edition: ‘Managing Successful Programmes’ – the examinations for MSP are based upon this manual.

MSP Foundation & Practitioner Training:

Upon booking an MSP course with us, PRINCE2 Training will subsequently send Pre-Course work (via email) to the delegate:

  • 3 sections of the MSP manual ‘Managing Successful Programmes’ – Introduction, Principles and Introduction to Themes.
  • A Pre-course workbook that is to be completed and handed in to the correct trainer at the beginning of the course.

We recommend that around 10-15 hours is spent completing the Pre-course work prior to the course start date. PRINCE2 Training’s MSP training course is an extremely intensive 5 day course in which the delegate will be provided with the skills and knowledge needed; the MSP Foundation & Practitioner examinations are also included within these 5 days.

Following your booking and confirmation of the course, Joining Instructions that describe the course location, address, and other administrative details will also be emailed.

A MINIMUM of 2 hours homework will be set each evening of the course by the instructor, this must be completed without fail.

MSP Foundation

The MSP Foundation examination consists of a 50 question multiple choice examination; the pass mark for the examination is 30/50. Accomplishment in this examination will indicate that the delegate would be more than able to act as an informed member of a Programme Management Team; the MSP Foundation course provides the delegate with the fundamental elements and skills needed to control a successful programme within a programme environment. NOTE: A prerequisite for the Practitioner examination is to have passed the MSP Foundation examination.

MSP Practitioner

The MSP Practitioner examination consists of an 80 question Objective Test Examination; the pass mark for this examination is 50% (40/80). Being the top-level MSP qualification, success in the Practitioner examination depicts that the delegate is now a fully trained Programme Manager. The MSP Practitioner qualification should be Re-registered every 3-5 years.
