What is PRINCE2? (PRojects IN a Controlled Environment)
PRINCE2, is a structured project management method that, based from experience drawn from thousands of projects, allows you to build and manage your own project successfully. It’s the planning, delegating, monitoring and control of all aspects of a projects, motivating those involved to create enthusiasm for the work at hand, and to achieve the project objectives within a time limit and expected performance targets.
Developed by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) in 1989, PRINCE 2 was then launched as a general project management method in 1996, and has become increasingly popular over the years with people seeking PRINCE2 Project Management qualifications.

PRINCE 2 is widely used by organisations across different sectors and industries, in order to make project management more successful and less prone to failure. PRINCE 2 Exams
To become a registered and qualified Practitioner, you MUST sit both exams, PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner, in that order.
Indeed, it is entirely your choice when to sit the exams; they can be set in the same day, week, month, or even years apart as the Foundation Certification has no expiry.
Certainly, you don’t even have to take the PRINCE2 Training course to sit the exams; it is down to your personal preference.
PRINCE2 Courses

The initial layout of the courses will be like this:
· PRINCE 2 Foundation and Practitioner – 5 day course:
- Day 1&2 : Methodology and Terminology
- Day 3: Practice Questions and examinations, followed by the PRINCE2 Foundation Exam in the afternoon
- Day 4: Scenario-based questions on the PRINCE2 Course, applying the framework to real-world Project Management issues.
- Day 5: You will then sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam in the morning
The required pass marks for the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner Exams are as follows:
- Foundation – 35/70 = 50%
- Practitioner – 59/108 = 55%
